Photography Workshops In Newfoundland

Newfoundland and Labrador is a paradise for a photography workshop. With spectacular scenery around every corner, void of tourists, and more than enough breathing room to satisfy your need to get outdoors, it’s the perfect place to explore a new location with your camera. The best part? It doesn’t matter when you visit, because outdoor photography experiences are available all year long.

With over 29,000 kilometers of coastline – it is no wonder bird photographers join me to capture the 35 million seabirds that love this place. Experience the chaotic gatherings of 25,000 gannets and 7 million storm-petrels, just to name a few. Black-legged kittiwakes, common murres, and their thick-billed cousins are also easily spotted. We can also photograph more than 500,000 Atlantic puffins at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. Or, stand a mere 20 meters from Bird Rock at the Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, one of the most accessible seabird nesting sites in the world.

Newfoundland is also one of the few places in the world to receive simultaneous visits from whales, seabirds, and icebergs. As the whales and birds migrate north and the icebergs sail south, there’s a chance to experience all three of these wonderful sights in one trip. Like so much in nature, there are many factors that vary from year to year, but with luck, you’ll witness this exciting spectacle.

For the landscape photographer, Newfoundland is situated at the eastern edge of North America, Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the best places to see and appreciate nature in all its glory. Dramatic coastlines, sweeping barrens, thick boreal forests, and ancient rock formations – the natural, wild beauty of this place surrounds you at every turn.

This province is also home to three National Parks, and one National Park Reserve. Newfoundland and Labrador also boast 18 wilderness and ecological reserves, and breathtaking botanical gardens. So, why not join me. I have been traveling the roads of Newfoundland for almost a decade.
