Introduction to the Snowy Owl and Wildlife Workshop

Photograph the beauty of the Snowy Owl population in Northern Ontario with wildlife expert and photographer, Bruce Taubert. For five days you will have exclusive access to private lands where we will photograph these stealth winged creatures as well as the Pine Martin, Foxes and other stunning wildlife. Limited to 7 photographers. Passport Required

Please be aware that shooting locations stated in this itinerary may change. Each day we will determine which locations are best based on lighting conditions, in the hopes of giving you the best opportunities possible.

A week prior to the workshop, Bruce Taubert will hold a webinar to discuss conditions, locations and ideal camera settings for each of the areas to be photographed.

This trip is being managed by Arizona Highways. I am guiding their group to locations and aiding Bruce in this workshop.

Itinerary of Workshop

Day 1 – Sunday, January 22

• Must arrive in Toronto by 6:00pm.

•Group will be met and transported to Quality Inn in Barrie.

•We will enjoy a group dinner enroute to the hotel.

Day 2 - Monday, January 23

•Breakfast at hotel.

•Meet at 7am and head out for a day of shooting Snowy Owls at different farms. Our goal is to introduce you to snowy owls. We will also go and try to find the Barred Owl that we frequently see roaming around the hay barns on these properties.

•We will shoot in the morning, go and grab some lunch and discuss the morning activities.

•We will then prepare you for the afternoon with other birds, and if the morning birds were accommodating, spend more time with them.

•After our afternoon shooting we will head back to the hotel and open up our laptops and go through the images to help you edit and compose the images you took that day.

Day 3 - Tuesday, January 24

•Breakfast at hotel.

•We will meet at 7am and head out for a day of shooting Snowy Owls at different farms. Our goal is to introduce you to snowy owls. We will also go and try to find the Barred Owl that we frequently see roaming around the hay barns on these properties.

Day 4 - Wednesday, January 25

•Breakfast at hotel.

•We will meet at 7am and head out for a day of shooting the different owls.

•After our morning shoot we will grab some lunch.

•Then we are off for the afternoon with other birds

• Late in the day we will drive to second location in Huntsville. We will stay at the Comfort Inn in Huntsville for the next three nights.

At night we will have a photo critique

Day 5 - Thursday, January 26

•Breakfast at hotel.

•Today we will photograph other winter wildlife including the red fox, pine martins and swans.

•We will break for lunch and resume our wildlife photo opportunities.

•Return to hotel.

Day 6 - Friday, January 27

•Day six is a repeat of day five.

•Workshop Adjourns

Day 7- Saturday, January 28

•Airport transfers and departures will be scheduled. Schedule your flights from Toronto airport after 2pm.
