Landscape and Cultural Photography Workshops

From the beautiful shores of Newfoundland where the icebergs flow past the lighthouses and rocky shorelines, to the arctic circle where the aurora dances and the south pole where the penguins walk. Old growth rain forests and pristine beauty of North America's Pacific Northwest to Iceland and Europe; I have been leading groups of photographers on many a bucket list trip here and Canada, and around the world.

I have been running these workshops for many years. I know where we need to be, and at what time of day we need to be there to maximize the light and get you the shots that you expect from these location.

I also will make sure that the appropriate permits are secured and you are personally prepared with the right equipment before you leave home. My pre workshop briefings will ensure that you have packed the right clothes, you've got the gear you need and you know where we are going to be photographing during each day of your photography vacation with me. 

All the logistics will be handled, all you have to do is show up, shoot and have fun on vacation.

2018 Winter Iceland Landscapes and Northern Lights

Dates: March 14, 2018 to March 24, 2018

Join me in Iceland, with a small group of 11 guests, as we take you on the hunt for the perfect light and amazing landscapes at this most beautiful arctic paradise. Led by Muench Workshops PRO's, Kevin Pepper and Skarpi Práinsson, explore the surreal landscapes, seascapes, fjords, waterfalls, mountains, lakes, rivers, northern lights, and stars that are the beauty of Iceland. Over 9 days and 8 nights we’ll cover a tremendous amount of this country—expect to be amongst a group of like-minded photographers who will work hard to learn new techniques and get amazing imagery. You’ll be up early and up late, shooting sunrise, sunset, and northern lights. This workshop is all-inclusive and will feature plenty of instruction in the field and in the digital darkroom.

2018 China Photo Workshop

Dates: May 17, 2018 to May 30, 2018

Join Andy Williams and Kevin Pepper in China for amazing landscapes and cultural photography on this 14 day China photography workshop. We've crafted our itinerary to capture some of the very best of China, and made our group size small and manageable, only eight guests and two pros! From the big city to the small towns, from the Great Wall to the Yellow Mountains, we'll arrange for incredible photographic opportunities each and every day. Accommodations are in 4-star lodgings, and we will have our own private ground transportation while we're on the road. We'll cover a lot of ground over 14 days, from Beijing to Huangshan to Hangzhou to Xian to Guilin and finally ending in Shanghai. Included are four domestic flights to move us around this large country! Everything is all-inclusive—all lodging, meals, transportation, photographic guiding and instruction and our English-speaking tour guide.

The Viking Trail and Iceberg Alley

Workshop - June 5 to June 12, 2018

Have you ever wanted to stay in your very own lighthouse? This trip will have you waking up in our very own private lighthouse inn to the smell of a home cooked breakfast as you look out across the north atlantic ocean at the entrance to Iceberg Alley.

Do icebergs captivate you? Imagine an up close and personal viewing of some of the largest tabular and cathedral icebergs at the entrance to the world famous iceberg alley.

This is the perfect trip for the photographer that loves photographing by the ocean in and around old abandoned fishing villages, icebergs, and lighthouses, with a backdrop of stunning golden hour... and we can't forget the Humpback whales that are migrating north as the icebergs are travelling south.

Mongolia Photography Workshop to Capture Culture and History of this Ancient Land

Dates: July 1, 2018 to July 14, 2018

We have created a workshop that introduces you to ancient Mongolian cultures. Together we will travel through Mongolia to see first-hand the thousand year old art of eagle falconry on horseback, witness the Naadam Festival, which has origins back to the 17th century, and then travel north to see reindeer herders that only exist in remote pockets of the world and most people only ever read about in magazines or history books.

Back Country Fall Colours Workshop

Workshop: August 26, 2018 to September 2, 2018

Introduction: Jules Renard once wrote, “On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it.” Yukon has many locations that I would consider Heaven on Earth. Deep inside the Tombstone Mountains, Kluane National Park, and many of the areas in between... On this trip it will be a small group of photographers. We are going to some of the most remote and breathtaking areas on the Yukon... by foot and being dropped in the back country by helicopter.

It is my intent to introduce you to Canada's back country, "Heaven on Earth".

Yukon Adventure

Dates: January 27 to February 4, 2019

Calling all photographers who have always wanted to photograph the northern lights! The Yukon is one of the best locations in the world to capture the Aurora.  It is here you will close your eyes and breathe in crisp Yukon air, smell spruce sap and the earthy scent of tundra, and listen for the excited howls of husky sled dogs. But the real magic happens when you open your eyes and drink in Yukon landscapes under dancing aurora borealis.

Newfoundland Workshop to Eastern Coastal Villages

This trip is going to be ideal for the photographer that wants to take those photos of the quindescential east coast, colourful buildings along the coastal waterways. As an added bonus we will take you to North Americas largest colony of Puffins that you can photograph form land and put you up close and personal with humpback whales that will be swimming around the icebergs off the east coast of Newfoundland.

2019 Eagle Hunters and Camel Herders

Dates of the Workshop: October 8, to October 22, 2019

Join us as we photograph Mongolia’s vast, breathtaking landscapes, live in the Ger tents of the nomad as they have for over a thousand years, and hear the cry of a soaring golden eagle during our private eagle hunter sessions as they perform the ancient art of eagle falconry. Together, we will also journey deep into the heart of the Gobi desert and spend time with Bactrian camel herders in some of the longest-stretching sand dunes in the world. Shoot the uncountable number of stars in the night sky over your gear tent. Top it off with some of the oldest Buddhist temples and ruins, abundant wildlife and legendary Mongolian hospitality, and you come up with a recipe for a thrilling workshop in one of the most inviting and beautiful countries in the world, Mongolia.
